About Young Magic

Young Magic originated as solo project for producer Isaac Emmanuel, and expanded to a band during 2010 in New York City. Members Isaac Emmanuel and Michael Italia were born in Australia and Melati Malay was born in Indonesia. The group began recording together in early 2011, and after playing at Iceland Airwaves and the CMJ Festival in 2011, issued their debut full-length, Melt, on Carpark Records on February 14, 2012.

The group has drawn comparisons to Animal Collective, My Bloody Valentine and Flying Lotus.,Young Magic’s album “Melt” was recorded in a variety of international locations, including Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, USA, Spain, Germany, Iceland, Australia and the UK.The music combines field recordings from these locations, with more traditional samples of soul music and psychedelic music.
